=====! interview !=============================================================

        Session Start: Fri May 28 22:40:55 1999

        <fthr> hello

<|ps|> hello so who are you?

<fthr> do you want me to get philosophical or can i just say antti

        <|ps|> please get philosofical!!!

<fthr> okay. my philosophy is that i really don't have a clue
so i just sit here thinking about it most of the time

<|ps|> sounds like fun to me! what do you do when your not sitting?

<fthr> oh i walk around usually from place to place but occasionally
               just wander around

<|ps|> what do you do on the scene?

<fthr> well, we do lotsa stuff with tpolm people
like demos and intros and webpages and music and graphics
               and whatever

        <|ps|> who is we?

<fthr> we is tpolm i mean, when i do stuff on the scene i work with
lots of people so that makes the we

<|ps|> what does tpolm stand for?

<fthr> the planet of lenin & marx

<|ps|> does that mean you are a social capitalist?

<fthr> no they just bought us .. so we had to change the 2 words
               shouldn't have signed that contract

        <|ps|> damn!

<fthr> but i think they're about to resell us to the beatles' apple
corp so we'd be the planet of lennon & mccartney

<|ps|> so what is tpolm's current plan for taking over the world?

        <fthr> improvising took planning's place a while ago .. so we'll
just do it it'll be a natural process

<|ps|> ah i see isnt lennon dead?

<fthr> but you know it's gotta be done with feeling
one has to put heart into it

<|ps|> well.. lenin and marx also were but...

<fthr> yeah but that's sean lennon

<|ps|> ahhhhhhhhh sean.......... whos sean lennon?

        <fthr> you know john & yoko's son
               he makes music nowadays

<|ps|> he does? cool for him... :P

<fthr> weird pop .. i've just heard a few songs so i don't know what
to make of it actually he was in melrose place a while back.
               pretty sad

<|ps|> so you live in finland... how is it like over there?

<fthr> well now it just got dark like a hour ago but the sun will be
up in like 2 hours and everything's green and birds sing a lot

<|ps|> in 2 hours? is it me or things move fast on finland?

<fthr> yeah the night seems to be pretty short at this time of year
it has to do with astrophysics and the position of earth in
               relation to sun or something
i dunno i never paid attention when they told me these things

<|ps|> so how old are you? and what do you do on real life?

<fthr> i'm 20 years and some months old i live my real life 24 hours
a day so i have plenty of time to do all sorts of things
hard to think of any specially interesting things so quickly
yesterday i was playing golf which was pretty cool
hope you got some people to fix the typos before you publish
this stuff [editor: teh typos i just fixed?]

<|ps|> how was the final result? 10 above par for 1st hole? :P
i have a personal pinguin who does the spelling checks before
               printage is due

<fthr> no just 5 over par on the 1st :) but that's the tricky hole
it has a corner.. and they changed it from last year so it's
               a real boggler

<|ps|> dont you have special slave pinguins in tpolm too?

<fthr> naah the penguins are equal

<|ps|> well.. i guess you are not a linux lover then

<fthr> and noone really wants to mess with a penguin.
               http://www.nocturne.org/pokey for reference
yeah i'm really not but i'll install linux soon anyway as a
router. that way i can irc from 3 computers at once

        <|ps|> wow! 3x the fun! :|

<fthr> mm yess :) i'm really looking forward to that

<|ps|> are you ready for the weird questions? :P

        <fthr> sure

<|ps|> whats the tpolm production you are more proud of?

<fthr> that's the weirdest thing you can come up with? come on now :)
but the answer is cyboman 4

<|ps|> well ok... how many calories has a lump of butter?

        <fthr> hmmmm i don't know damn
it's like this when you're undereducated
do you know? got me interested

<|ps|> it depends on the amount of butter contained in a lump of
butter... whats the capital of madagascar?

<fthr> damn i don't know that either should go back to skool

<|ps|> ok, easier one for you then, how many people live in malta?

        <fthr> i'd say .. one hundred thousand?

        <|ps|> close enough...

<fthr> thanks i feel better about myself now

<|ps|> how many champoo bottles are there in your bathroom?

        <fthr> hehe lots
               lots of empty ones
i don't know why it's such a hard job to take the empty ones
out but they might prove useful someday in case i need some
               storage for some weird liquids

<|ps|> for what? another tpolm production? :P

<fthr> you never know that'd be a naturall progress too
we used to have tpolm perfumes so a tpolm brand shampoo isn't
               a bad idea actually

<|ps|> what do you think about the war in kosovo?

<fthr> i don't know what to think about most of the people in the
world, let alone the things in kosovo. noone seems to
understand anything about anything not even me and you

<|ps|> is that a spontaneous though or is it the result of heavy
               brainstorming?

<fthr> and then we think we understand and that makes things
important and then surrealistically distorted stuff like wars
happen you can tell from the typos it's spontaneous :)
[editor: the ones i just fixed?]

<|ps|> hehe what are the things that make you happy?

<fthr> the love i get and the love i give

<|ps|> what about the things that make you sad?

<fthr> the feeling of emptiness that exists
you know how pointless stuff is and how important we think
               it is

<|ps|> humm... what are the things that make you mad?

<fthr> i don't get mad but i do have a subscribtion to mad magazine!
               which makes me happy

<|ps|> what are the contents of mad magazine?

<fthr> you never read mad magazine? it's humour in different forms.
comics & parodies & all sorts of stuff

        <|ps|> humm... examples..

<fthr> the lighter side of demojournal

        <|ps|> :P

<fthr> this morning i was reading the new kids on the block
personnality test from mad magazine while eating breakfast
               kinda outdated huh

<|ps|> lets back into scene stuff... what are your favorite all time
               demos?

        <fthr> hmmm

<fthr> deep psilocybin mix by cncd
baygon & planet m by melon
               the polka brothers demos
               the orange demos
               the sonik demos
and all the new great stuff that comes out nowadays. wish i
               could remember the titles :)

<|ps|> what about coders, artists and musicians?

<fthr> hehe there's pretty far out coders out there. like talk to
wog or kraku, and they'll just keep talking about some weird
weird codey stuff for hours and hours. i don't really
understand any of it but it's still interesting to listen
to :) so those kinda coders are my favorite ones
and as for artists.. there's lots of cool artists. you know
who you are i love you :)
and same goes for musicians but it's the truth that all the
cool ones are in tpolm .)

<|ps|> eheh :) ok, i kind of dont know what else to ask... where can
ppl worship you (html) and send messages (email)?

<fthr> ooo hm www.tpolm.com! and fthr@tpolm.com is my email address

<|ps|> well.. thank you for your time! :) have a pleasant world
               takeover! :P

<fthr> thank you for yours though it's not really our time

        <|ps|> :) lets not get technical :)

<fthr> i will. i won't actually be there but my spirit and thoughts
               will be attending hopla

=====! demo !==================================================================

        Russian Space Domination by ROBOT
1st place pc demo compo at Icing 1999.
        Requires: Windows 95/98/NT, VooDoo2 3D accelerator, 32meg ram,
                   P200Mhz.
Tested on: Windows 98, Voodoo2, 64MB, Intel Pentium MMX 200 MHz

I haven't seen any accelerated demo yet. This one won Icing 1999,
so it can be good. Downloading 3.5MB. Hm, some .class files => Java.
Starting.... Some stupid comments shown in the beginning. Then nice
picture of spaceship and good looking titles. And here comes 3d, we
are moving through the ship, looks quite good, could be a nice game.
Music is something between md and distance, but I don't like that
sharp noisy sounds. Still moving, nice view through the window to
the lab, still moving forward to some green liquid, looks known to me
from unreal, but there's something moving in it. It comes out !
Yes, Blobs ! Again we fast move through the doors to some basin.
Music has changed, it is more smooth. Something moves in the water,
making nice waves and something (hailstones? :) falls in the basin
and makes more waves. Here comes the break - picture of robot is
shown (my computer lives, they say). Again scene similar to
unreal/halflife, some show with the lights, looks good. Now some
3d objects, greets and picture with credits. Finished.

        Worth to download?
I think yes. This demo shows, that with accelerated demos, you can
concentrate more on design. This one looked good, but it is short, it
eats a lot of memory (swapped on 64meg ram - you know, java) and it
supports only glide. On the other side i was surprised by the speed
(remind - it's java) and i liked the graphics. If they spend more
time on their next demo, it can be a real surprise.
                                                                           vt

        Retrospection / Elusive Images
        Quasian
        Japotek
        all downloaded from scene.org

The style of these songs is something between his System51, which
was 2nd at last Assembly, and between necros. They have very nice
melodies, only the lead should be a bit stronger in some parts in
the first song. I've checked also his older songs in his directory
at scene.org, but they aren't so good, better download his System51.
But don't forget to check at least one of the songs.

        -------------------------------------------

feel the power (mp3) by kb
        from scene.org
        1998

This tune is something ! It's combination of Jarre, Vangelis and KB
(info shows category SynthPop). It has a great tempo and you'll love
it. Only the vocals could be a bit better (you can hear that's not
a professional singer who is singing). But it's only a computer
scene. This one could easily beat a lot of commercial songs.
Download this one! Follow the star!
                                                                           vt
