                            EchoView 1.1
                            ============

This file describes in detail all changes and bug fixes in
EchoView since the very first beta-release.

I'm quite sure that nobody will read it, but it's the usual
history file which sometimes can be helpful.

Updating : replace old versions of ECHOVIEW.EXE, ECHOVIEW.HLP
and SCANMESS.DAT with the new versions.

Data Format changes :
1.1.1 beta upwards : EPLAN*.DAT has changed
1.1.7 beta upwards : EWORM*.DAT has changed

Downward compatibilty :
EPLAN*.DAT : read by version 1.02 upwards
EWORM*.DAT : read by version 1.1.7 beta upwards

Not a bug :
 - when playing with HOST32b3c or higher, Unpack35 will not generate
KORE??.DAT files (Tim has changed this)
 - after changing from 1.02, pillaged planets may show the number
of natives left but say "No natives". This is due to internal
   format changes.
 - after changing from 1.02 beta, PHOST wormholes may still show wrong
exits. This will disappear after saving and loading the game again.
 - If the hyperjump waypoint is too far away to set it in DOS planets,
then there was no closer one (EV hyperjump waypoints are allowed
to lay between 21 and 160 ly)

Known problems :
 - EchoView sometimes can't be found by circling through the tasks
with <Alt Tab>. Press <Ctrl Esc> instead to select EchoView.
It seems that this is caused by EV going into an inactive state,
but I'm still not able to reproduce it.
 - The GOTO button in the messages window doesn't always work as it
should. This is due to the WINPLAN message format (it doesn't
even work in WINPLAN in all cases).
 - loading allied files can, in some special cases, cause confusion
(ghosting ships etc.). If you encounter such a case, please send
   me the whole game-directory.
