CD-55A INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR WINDOWS 95
                        THIS DRIVER IS ONLY FOR TEAC 8 BIT I/F CARD

1. If you would like to upgrade to Windows 95 from Windows 3.1 or Windows 3.11
   (DOS 5.0 or higher) by using CD-55A:
   
   1-1  Install the device driver in your config.sys and CD-ROM Extension 
        program in your autoexec.bat by using CD-55A CD-ROM Installation Disk
        (P/N T000022-00C).
        Please refer to Software manual to install the device driver.

   1-2  Reboot your system after the installation complete and let the system 
        recognize CD-55A.

   1-3  When your system recognize CD-55A, you can install Windows 95 from  
        CD-55A.

   Note: You must set the I/O address manually.
         Refer to How to set the I/O address 


2. If you have already installed Windows 95 and you would like to install  
   CD-55A:

   2-1  Reboot your system and press "F8" key as soon as "Starting Windows 95"
        appears.

   2-2  Select "Previous version of MS-DOS" and press "Enter" key.

   2-3  Install the device driver in your config.sys and CD-ROM Extension
        program in your autoexec.bat by using instdos.exe program in CD-55A
        CD-ROM Installation Disk (P/N T000022-00C). Please refer to Software
        manual to install the device driver.

3. If you have already installed both Windows 95 and CD-55A:

   Note: You must set the I/O address manually.
         Refer to How to set the I/O address 


How to install the protect mode driver

   Please call our BBS to get the protect mode driver.

   You will get compression file CD55_W95.ZIP which consists of 3 files 
   as follows:
                OEM3    .INF
                TEAC4X  .MPD
                README  .TXT

   You must uncompress CD55_W95.ZIP file by using PKUNZIP.EXE program.

   Boot up Windows 95 and go to "Control Panel", double-click "Add New
   Hardware".

   Click "Next" to begin installing CD-55A and select "No" because you can't 
   search CD-55A automatically. Then click "Next".

   Select "CD-ROM controller" as Hardware type and click "Next".

   Click "Have Disk".

   If the disk isn't in Drive A, change the drive letter or directly. Then
   click "OK".

   Find "TEAC4x CD-ROM Drive" in Models and click "Next".

   Confirm the I/O address setting. If this address is different from your 
   hardware I/O address (dip switch), you must set same address later.
   Refer to How to set the I/O address.

   Click "Next", then the driver will be installed.

   Click "Finish" to complete the installation.

   Click "OK" to shut down your computer and let it recognize CD-55A.


How to set the I/O address

   Boot up Windows 95 and go to "Control Panel", double-click "System".

   Select "Device Manager" and double-click "CD-ROM controllers".

   "TEAC4x CD-ROM Drive" appears and double-click it. 
   
   Select "Resources" and click "Change Setting".

   You must select the correct address from the following address.
                Value:  0230 - 0237
                        0330 - 0337
                        0430 - 0437

   Click "OK" twice and click "OK" to restart again.


How to use with DOS environment
   
   Please reboot your system and press "F8" key as soon as "Starting 
   Windows 95" appears. Then select "Previous version of MS-DOS" and press
   "Enter" key. (Your previous config.sys and autoexec.bat files have been 
   rename as config.dos and autoexec.dos in Windows 95 environment, but when
   you select "Previous version of MS-DOS", config.dos and autoexec.dos will 
   be loaded as config.sys and autoexec.bat.)


Caution!
   
   If you select "Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode" in Shut Down option, 
   system will not recognize CD-55A.

   If you install the real mode driver from MS-DOS mode (which isn't "Previous
   version of MS-DOS") by using CD-55A CD-ROM Installation Disk 
   (P/N T000022-00C) after installing the protect mode driver, your system 
   will hung up.
   
   This protect mode driver will not work with TEAC 16 bit I/F card.
   If you are using TEAC 16 bit I/F card, you can not install the protect mode
   driver unless you have TEAC 8 bit I/F card or Sound Blaster which has
   jumpers for I/O address 220H. 
   When you use TEAC 8 bit I/F card instead of TEAC 16 bit I/F card, you must
   modify the I/O port address (/P:XXX) of TEAC_CDA.SYS driver in the 
   config.sys file in "Previous version of MS-DOS".
   When you use Sound Blaster instead of TEAC 16 bit I/F card, you must modify 
   the I/O port address (/P:XXX) and I/F card type (/T:X) from 1 to 0 of 
   TEAC_CDA.SYS driver in the config.sys file in "Previous version of MS-DOS".
