                          Frequently Asked Questions

This file contains some questions which are asked frequently. Please
peruse this file- you may find a simple answer to what seems to be a perplexing
question.

1) Why can't I close a single note by itself? It seems that all I can do is
close all of them at once (with Close stickies).

You can close one at a time, through the note's context menu. Right-
click the title bar (the slightly darker area of the note at its top) and a
menu will appear. Select "Close" from this menu.

2) Why can't I change the characteristics of a note after I've created it?

You can, again through the note's context menu. Right-click the title
bar (the slightly darker area of the note at its top) and a menu will appear.
From this menu you can change the font, font color and note color. You can
hide the sticky, and toggle Always on Top behavior.

3) The installation procedure fails when copying files. What is wrong?

You are probably running StickyNote when you run Setup, and trying
to overwrite the running version. Windows doesn't allow you to write to files
that are active. You need to close any running copies of StickyNote before
you run Setup. This is specified in the first window of the Setup procedure.

4) Why do the notes appear differently from the custom colors I select?

StickyNote must display your notes in a solid color. This is
a constraint of Windows and the way the program is arranged. Thus, the
color of your notes will be the closest solid color to the custom color
you select. This should only affect you if you are using 256 colors or
less; try using more.

5) Something is wrong...

Something very well could be wrong. Write me at
"ccarrill@fas.harvard.edu" and explain your problem in detail. I'll be able
to tell you how to correct it, or correct it myself.
