Description:

Card matching game for kids ages 3 and up. 32 cards are
arranged in an 8x4 pattern, find all the matching cards by
clicking on the buttons below the pictures. If the game is
run under Warp 4.0 with Speech Recognition enabled, you can
play the game using Speech Navigation. Simply say the numbers
1 thru 32 and the pictures will appear. Includes counter for
number of tries. Five different card backgrounds included.
If you occasionally show your Warp system to friends, this
is a great game to show off speech navigation!

How to play:

Note: This game will detect the current screen resolution and
make the necessary adjustments automatically for 1024x768,
800x600 and 640x480 resolutions. If any other resolution is
detected you are given the option of running either one or quit
the game. In this case, I suggest to use the closest resolution
to the one you are using. The pictures and buttons will not be
the same widths, but the game should still be playable.

When the program is first started, the screen displays 32 cards
arranged in a 4 by 8 pattern. Click on any of the buttons below
the pictures to turn the cards over. Open another card. If the
cards don't match, both cards automatically close after 1.1
seconds. If the cards match, then the buttons below the pictures
are disabled and the pictures remain displayed until a new game
is played. A counter keeps track of how many times the buttons
are pressed.

Note: The counter increments every time a button is pressed,
even if the picture is showing. For open cards that have
a match, the counter does not increment when the corresponding
button is pressed. If you get a count between 32 and 64 then
consider yourself a Master. In our household the youngest is
holding the record at 68 tries. We have one proud 4-year-old
running around our house!

If you play this game under Warp 4.0 with speech enabled, then
simply say the numbers 1 through 32 as they appear on the buttons
below the picture. The buttons were placed there to identify the
pictures specifically for speech navigation. All menu commands are
also automatically speech enabled, so you can change the card
background simply by saying "Game" "Options" "two" for example.

If you let your kids play using speech navigation, then I recommend
two things: Keep only one kid in the room with the computer (it is
so hard for the kid who has to wait to stay quiet) and enroll each
kid with an individual profile (approx. 6 years or older).
My 4 year old son tested this game with my speech profile and
mostly it worked, but numbers like "13" and "30" did get
misinterpreted. My 6 year old daughter had less of a success using
my profile, must be the female voice! This game gives you a great
opportunity to spend some time with your kids and teach them to
read and run a computer at the same time!

and all five picture theme samples.

Register this Game!

Other than only one card theme and registration reminders, this
game is fully functional. If you like this game and use it
regularly for more than 30 days, then you must register. You
will receive four more card themes (in addition to the dinosaurs)
and many other options. Please support the shareware concept!

The card themes included are: Dinosaurs, Farm Animals, Birds,
Wild Animals and Fish using the same quality picture as displayed
in the unregistered version. The registration reminders are also
removed.

Additional options include:

Open cards by saying numbers (1-32) and letters (A-Z, 1-6).
This will teach kids to recognize both numbers and letters.

Auto-Play picks two cards at random, opens them and checks if
they match. Matching cards will stay open, score is also
updated. This feature is great for demos of OS/2 as it shows
constant screen changes and plays for a long time as it does
not remember cards it had already opened (Non-smart auto-play).
Auto-Play uses very little CPU cycles and can be used to show-
off the multitasking of OS/2.

The registered version also keeps track of the ten best scores,
the persons name and allows two players to play together by
keeping track of card openings with number-of-tries counters
and overall score.

The delay time for two unmatched cards to stay open is also
adjustable.

A "Hint" option highlights all matching cards.

The counter will not increment when any of the buttons are
clicked on, that have corresponding open pictures.

These last two items will be especially appreciated by smaller
kids as it will improve their scores. When the "Hint" feature
or Auto-Play was activated during the game, the resulting score
will not be added to the 10 best score list.

Registration is only $5.00. I can only accept checks or money
orders (cash also, if you trust the post office). A registered
version will be sent via e-mail. If you can absolutely not receive
e-mail attachments, then I can mail a floppy disk. Quantity
discounts also available.
