Welcome to Booger Bungee

I'm sure many of you (if not all of you) have picked
your nose as one point or another. Many of you have
even perhaps gone as far as to eat whatever glorious
treasure you've gleamed from it. But have you ever
considered that perhaps those simple creatures which you
unceremoniously tore from your nose and shoved into
your mouth without a second thought each and every day
at school... have you ever considered that these simple
creatures have feelings, just like you and me? Well,
they do. This is their story.

Booger Bungee is the first and only chapter of the
long-awaited Nose Trilogy. In it you play the part of
an aspiring Booger Bungee athlete. For the past year
you've been training, but will it be enough? This
year the competition's tougher than ever. All your
skills will be sorely tested this day...

--------------------------------------------------------

Uh, What?

If you're still reading, than you haven't gone off to
tell your grandmother about the "horrible thing you
found on the internet". That's good. But you're also
probably extremely confused. Truthfully, without all
the aforementioned mumbo jumbo, Booger Bungee is a
simple game, where the object is to, in a certain amount
of time, rack up as many points as possible and maybe
even get a high score. The easiest way to do this is to
do tricks.

The tricks are outlined below.

--------------------------------------------------------

I Still Don't Get It

Oh, shut up, already.

--------------------------------------------------------

Getting Started

At the Title screen, you will notice two option boxes
and four large, plush buttons:

Enter Your Name - I think this is self-explanatory.
This affects you if you get a high score, so don't put
down something you'll regret later, like "Barfy".

Speed Option - Booger Bungee has been known to run a
little fast on some computers (not necessarily better
ones). I suggest that you do a Practice round to see
what setting is best for you. 1 is default as that's
how I play it on my computer. Ha!

Practice - Practice lets you practice your tricks
without the chance of getting a high score. Press the
Spacebar or break your rope (more on this below) to exit
Practice.

Start Swingin' - Allows you to compete for high score.

View High Scores - Only the highest scorers will be
displayed prominently here, along with their score and
(hopefully) a witty quote.

Exit - Takes you to a secret game which is fifty times
more fun than Booger Bungee.

Tricks

Doing tricks is the key to getting high scores. Tricks
range from easy to medium to hard, and the amount of
points you get varies with the difficulty. Let's teach
you some basic tricks, first.

All basic tricks are done by pressing either a, s, or d
once.

[Move : Point Value : Button(s)]

Stretch : 5 : a
Bend : 5 : s
Switch : 5 : d

Easy tricks are made up of a combination of basic tricks.

Twist : 100 : s,d,s
Ballooner : 100 : a,s,s
Smiley : 100 : s,d,a

Medium tricks are made up of a combination of basic
tricks, but can only be done at certain points in the
jump.

Supafly : 200 : ?
Phat Friday : 200 : ?
Big Poppa : 200 : ?

Hard tricks are made up of a combination of easy tricks.

Muscleman : 600 : ?
Santa : 600 : ?
Triple X : 600 : ?

Point values for easy and medium tricks go down with
each trick you do. For example, if I did three
ballooners, my fourth one would only give me 85 points,
instead of 100.

You also earn a variety bonus at the end of your jump.
The more (different) tricks you do, the higher the
variety bonus. Basic tricks do not count, so the
highest variety bonus is 900 points.

--------------------------------------------------------

Rope Tension

In the right corner of the jump-screen is a little
booger face and some text. This gauges your rope
tension. Rope tension goes up if you do too many tricks
in a row. As rope tension gets higher, you run the risk
of the rope snapping, sending your jump to an early end.
Rope tension goes down when you do new tricks.

--------------------------------------------------------

Commentators:

Your jump will be introduced by the famous Raul "Scabby"
Gonzalez, and MC Elmer, a brand-spankin' new veejay for
MTVB (Music Television for Boogers). This dynamic duo
will provide commentary during your jump, and will rate
your performance at the end.

One Final Note

At Blackeye Software, we strive to make games which are
simple to learn and play, and quick to download. I
think Booger Bungee epitomizes this. It's a game
which you could spend a lot of time playing, but not a
lot of time to get into. It's quirky, it's got a lot of
spunk, and I put quite a bit of effort into it. I hope
you enjoy this fruit from my loins!
