                   Civil War Battleground Scenario Editor

Note: This editor will only work with systems that run Windows 95.

Instructions for Downloading:

  1. Download the latest updates for your Civil War games.
  2. Set up a temporary folder for Civil War editor.
  3. Click on the file below. When prompted, save the file to your hard
     drive inside the temporary folder you just created.
     Note: Do NOT place the file inside the game folder, if you do, when it
     is extracted below it will erase your download.
  4. When the download is complete, double click the editor file
     (cwedit.exe) and have it extract to the Civil War game you wish to
     update.
     Note: It is only necessary to download the editor once, and then
     extract it to all 4 Civil War games.
  5. For instructions on using the Scenario Editor, refer to the cwedit.hlp
     file.

Remember:

Editors may be used to create scenarios that may be freely distributed,
providing that no monetary profit will be required or gained, and scenarios
are distributed in a non-commercial manner. TalonSoft has the ultimate
rights to all scenarios created from this software.

When starting the scenario editor you will be prompted to edit an existing
scenario. If you choose to do this, we STRONGLY recommend that you save
your edited scenario with a different scenario file name. If you edit an
existing scenario, and save it with the same file name, you may not be able
to use future updates.

This is only a scenario editor. There is no map editor or organization
editor for these games.
