Windows 95 for 32 bit version,

RUNTIME FILES

The setup program which installs this software
automatically checks for the needed files. You If
it gave you an error message about missing runtime
files, then you will need to obtain them to run
the program. If you are running Windows 95 then
the setup program will ask you if you want to go
to the Micromatt Web site to download them
(Windows 95 only).

Run-time files are NOT included in this archive.
See the Micromatt homepage at the URL below to
download the required runtime files if you do not
already have them. These files are also available
from many other sites on the Internet such as:

http://www.hotfiles.com/

The file set is called the Microsoft Visual Basic
4.0 Runtime files. You must have the correct
version of each set, which is 32 bit for Windows
95, and 16 bit for Windows 3.1. If you get error
messages about missing .DLL files or other missing
files, you will need to get a copy of the Visual
Basic runtimes.

To check if you already have the files, use the
Windows 95 Find utility from the Start menu to
search for the file: vb40032.dll . Or if youre a
Windows 3.1 user, you can use the Search command
in File Manager to locate the file: vb40016.dll .
If your searching does not produce any results,
you will need to obtain the Microsoft Visual Basic
4.0 runtime files from a source such as the
Internet, a BBS, a friend or coworker, the
Micromatt homepage, or by requesting the files by
email from Micromatt. If you need help obtaining
these files, please contact Micromatt.

If you dont have Internet access and arent able
to obtain the files anywhere else then send three
US dollars or a check/money order to:

Micromatt
P.O. Box 754
Arlington, MN 55307-0754

Attn: runtimes

In a note please state what version of Windows you
are running. Make checks for runtime files payable
to Matthew Carlson.

DESCRIPTION

Micromatt Football Fury, the football strategy
game for Windows. Pick your plays from over a
dozen available to get your team into the endzone
as soon as possible. Play by yourself, with a
friend, or just watch "from the sidelines" and let
the computer do all the work controlling both
teams. You can get up-to-the-minute statistics on
your game, go for a two point conversion, risk an
onside kick, pick any team from the 97 pro
football roster etc.

Football Fury does not work in the Large Fonts mode of
Windows. If you are unable to see the entire quote on
the main window please see the FAQ section of the help
file for information on how to fix this.

INSTALLATION

To install the program, open or unzip the archive
and run the SETUP.EXE file. In the setup program,
select the appropriate options or simply choose the
defaults presented to you (recommended).

HOW TO REGISTER

This shareware program is bundled with a program
called REGISTER which will accept information
needed to make an order. With it, you can order
via postal mail, email or fax using cash,
Mastercard, Visa, American Express or First
Virtual. All credit card information is encoded
for your security. The REGISTER program is
available by clicking any button which says
Order, or by clicking on Register in the Help
menu.

You can also order online! Goto
http://www.kagi.com/micromatt to order
online on a secured site. The Windows 95 verision
of this program has buttons with the words "Order
Online" which will take you straight to this site.

If you cannot print your ordering information,
email it, nor register on the Internet, then see
the ORDER.TXT file included with this archive or
the help file included.

HOW TO PLAY

The first thing you need to do is open the
application using the Start Menu in Windows 95,
or by using the Program Manager in Windows 3.1. A
new game will automatically be started when the
program is opened; or use the New Game item in
the Game menu to start a new game if you have
already opened the application. When a new game is
started, you will be prompted first to choose a
mode of play. Your choices are:

	Player vs. Computer
	Player vs. Player
	Computer vs. Computer

With either of the modes involving the computer,
the player has no control over the actions of the
game when the computers team has possession of
the ball.

The next step is to select the teams for the
game. Click on the name of the team you want for
team one, then click on the OK button. After a
slight pause, you will be able to select team two
from the list. Clicking on OK the second time
will notify you of the winner of the coin toss.
When you close the coin toss message box, the
play clock will begin and the game will be
underway.

If a team not controlled by the computer is set
to kick, then you must use the Kick menu to
select either a normal kickoff, or to attempt an
onside kick. Once your team has the ball you may
use the Pass, Run, and Kick menus to select the
plays you wish to run. On a touchdown play ran by
a player, rather than the computer, you will be
asked whether you want to go for a two point
conversion, or the extra point.

Once you are playing a game, you can get the
statistics of the current game by choosing Stats
from the Game menu. Also on the Game menu is an
item labeled CPU Speed. This affects the speed at
which the computer picks its plays when it is
controlling a team. If it becomes hard to follow
the game when the computer has the ball you
should select a lower speed from this menu.
Slower computers should use a slower speed for
most predictable results. Another feature
available on the Game menu is Smart Stop. When
this menu item has a check by it, the game you are
playing will be paused when the Football Fury
window is deactivated. Your game will stop the
clocks and will not continue running until you
return to it; in other words, it won't continue
playing in the background. For example, if you
opened the help file from the Help menu, your game
would pause until you returned to it, thus
preventing accidental delay of games. Clear the
check next to Smart Stop if you want your game to
continue while you do other work. This is
particularly useful when the game mode is set to
Computer vs. Computer and you'd like to be able to
do other things and just check in on the score of
the game.
