DXF2MAP : A DXF to Quake Map converter.

Usage: DXF2MAP <file> <scale>

Okay, this is a really early version, but works for the most part.
There are a few different DXF formats that I've found, and this one only
works with standard ASCII format. Direct 3DS DXF output doesn't work,
however, there are at least two shareware 3D editors
that will save in the correct DXF format - Breeze Designer (which you
can find through the POV-RAY website) and WCVT2POV (Which you can get on
ftp://avalon.viewpoint.com/pub/utilities/converters I think) Both will
import 3DS files, so editing in 3DStudio is fine.
Currently, the DXF format I'm reading doesn't support textures, so
all of your textures will default to bricka2_4. Also, it automatically drops
in a player_start at 10,10,10 , and a light at 10,10,100
Only 6 sided polygons are supported, but they can be skewed however you like.
So, if you want a polygon with more sides, mash some 6 sided ones together.
Like I said, this is really early.
There is no support for entities, so you'll have to stick 'em in with one
of the many entity placement programs, or manually in the MAP file, and
edit the default 2 entities to your liking.

NOTE: I take no responsibility for what this might do to your files.

If somebody has a handy browser for applying textures to surfaces visually,
I'd love to get a copy of it. I don't think I'm bored enough to program my
own 3D browser. I'll probably move on and try my hand at a 3DS2MAP converter
for the sake of textures, lights, and cameras.

If you find bugs in this one,(and I'm sure you will - 30 minutes work)
feel free to report them to me at -
