*******************************************************************************

    The game :

PaybackTime is a two player strategy combat simulation game.
It allows you to create your own combat unit, and challenge your
opponent to the game where only one will survive...
The units will grow bigger, wealthier and mightier as you beat
your lousy enemies. So the main objective is just to kill your enemy
and survive to the next match.

There are three different editors to modify/create your own game
world. You can edit the weapons, items/armors and the battlefields.
And it is recommendable to create/modify the terrible sound files
of the game (*.voc), size of a voc file can't exceed 14kb.

After creating your own map/data files, please spread them so the
other players can enjoy them as well.

NOTICE ! The game won't start unless you have at least one map,
groups.dat, weapons.dat and items.dat files in the game directory.

*******************************************************************************

    Requirements :

   - 2 players.
   - 386+ processor.
   - About 600 Kb of base memory, less if no sounds chosen.
   - No XMS/EMS required or supportred.
   - About 750 Kb free space required + space for maps.
   - No mouse required (or supported).
   - Supports Sound Blaster compatible soundcards.
       ( SET BLASTER needed in autoexec.bat ).

SB16 owners need these lines in the config.sys :
(examples only! A, I, D, H must have correct values.)

       devicehigh=c:\sb16\drv\ctsb16.sys /unit=0 /blaster=A:220 I:5 D:1 H:5
       devicehigh=c:\sb16\drv\ctmmsys.sys

S = Save the current values to the data file
L = Load the previously saved values from the data file

NOTICE that after saving the file, the editor will re-arrange the
order of the weapons/items/armors. So it is better to create
the files BEFORE starting the game and BEFORE creating the units.
Otherwise you might have problems with the items...

IMPORTANT: When creating your own weapon/item sets, you should
first delete the old .dat files to avoid problems, although it is not
  absolutely necessary.

*******************************************************************************

Something about the weapon editor :

Accuracy: The base accuracy. (To next square)
Acc. Factor: The accuracy drops by acc. factor per 1 square.
Exp. Rad.: The radius of the explosion.
Exp. Factor: The damage of the explosion drops by exp. factor
                  per 1 square.
Hands req.: Hands needed to use the weapon.
Max Burst: Maximum amount of energy weapons charges released per shot.
Clip type: Just the name of the clip.

*******************************************************************************

    Map viewer :

Select the map using the selector. Press enter when chosen.
Pressing any key quits the program. The program shows the deployment
 places for both units warriors.

*******************************************************************************

    Other features in game:

 - One handed weapon in both hands boosts the accuracy by 15%.

 - You can escape from the battle by entering a black/empty area.

 - When priming an explosive, the prime 1 means that explosive is
going to explode AFTER your opponents turn. Prime 2 means
an explosion AFTER your NEXT turn, prime 3 means an explosion
AFTER your opponents NEXT turn and so on.

 - If you are equipped with two handed weapon and somebody
    removes(shoots off) your other hand,
the weapon is dropped on the floor.

*******************************************************************************

    Some calculation info:

 - Chance of hit :
(((weapon acc. + warrior acc.)/2)-(range * weapon acc. fact.))*
( condition of hand(s) ). Simple as that.

 - Aiming allows you to choose a specific part of body to shoot at.
Aiming is possible when the chance of hit is at least 75%.
The chance of hit is decreased by 5-20% when aiming.

 - Bleeding : ((( base hps - current hps ) / base hps ) * 10 )

 - Winning unit gets 25000 credits and every dead enemy is worth 5000.

 - Experience gained from explosions is one point per damage caused.
Thrown explosives do not give any experience points.
Experience gained from projectile and energy weapons is
     2 points per damage caused.
Experience gained from melee attacks is 4 points per damage done.
     Skillpoints are equal to experiencepoints.

 - Movement costs : base cost is 4, moving diagonally increases the cost
by 2, moving backwards increases the cost by 2 also.
Turning costs 1 point. The health of warrior affects the moving costs.

 - Opening a door costs 4 movement points.

 - Picking up costs 10 movement points. Throwing costs 8 movement points.
Using first aid costs 15 movement points. Reloading costs 10 mps.
