			     TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: "Cannot find file" message appears, and LYNQ quits.
Cause: There are files missing in your Lynq directory.
Solution: Re-install Lynq. Make sure you have a complete version.
Shareware versions can be downloaded from a variety
of sources which are listed at the end of this document. If
you are missing files from your registered version, contact
	  technical support.

Problem: "Not enough Memory" message appears and LYNQ quits.
Cause: There is not enough system RAM currently available to run LYNQ.
Solution: Run SETUP and enable virtual memory, setting the memory to
the amount of actual memory in your machine.
If you are running SMARTDRV, you can set it so it uses less
	  system RAM.
If you don't have at least 4 Meg of system RAM, you won't
	  have much luck running LYNQ
Cause: LYNQ is being run from another application such as DOSSHELL, which
	  won't release memory to LYNQ.
Solution: Run Lynq files from the DOS PROMPT only.

Problem: I have a mouse, but there is no mouse cursor on my screen.
Cause: Mouse drivers have not been installed.
Solution: Install the mouse drivers. Usually as easy as typing the
command MOUSE at the command line prompt. If you have a mouse
which uses different drivers, consult your hardware user manual
and find the name of the DOS mouse driver.

Problem: I have a sound card, but I get no music.
Cause: The proper I/O port has not been configured from SETUP.
Solution: Run SETUP and configure the I/O port as specified in your
	  soundcard's user manual.
Cause: The FM sound card is not Adlib or SoundBlaster compatible.
Soultion: Check your user manual to make sure your sound card is Adlib or
	  SoundBlaster FM compatible.

Problem: I have a sound card, but I get no sound.
Cause: The proper I/O port has not been configured from SETUP.
Solution: Run SETUP and configure the I/O port as specified in your
	  soundcard's user manual.
Cause: The soundcard is not SoundBlaster compatible.
Solution: If you have an Adlib card, you will only be able to get music,
as these cards were made before it was common to put digital
	  signal processors on board.

Problem: I can't solve the puzzles.
Cause: Giving up too soon.
Solution: Check the README.TXT file for hints, on-line help for instrucutions.
All the puzzles have been checked and verified by Anarchy
Entertainment Inc., and its Beta testers, that is to say, they
	  all work! Persistance pays!

Problem: Program hangs or crashes.
Cause: We have no record of this, its a new bug.
Solution: See if you can replicate it, then contact technical support to
	  report a bug.

Problem: My problem is not covered in this document
Solution: Reboot your machine with a "clean" boot. If you are using
DOS version 6.0 or higher, hold down the left SHIFT key to
bypass AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS. If you are using a DOS
version lower than 6.0, make a boot disk with no AUTOEXEC.BAT and
no CONFIG.SYS. Make sure you install the MOUSE driver from the
command line. If this does not fix your problem, you need to
re-install LYNQ or get a new copy.
