		Police Quest 1 VGA Installation Notes
			         8/18/95


What the Patch fixes:

This patch will fix a lockup that occurs playing Police Quest 1 VGA on
a Pentium computer.  The lockup occurs leaving Bert's Park after you
have arrested the kid buying drugs.

To install the patch:
1.  Determine where the game was installed.  What drive and directory is 
the game installed to (i.e. C:\SIERRA\PQCOL or C:\SIERRA\PQ).  

2.  Put the patch disk in your floppy disk drive and at a DOS prompt 
change to your floppy disk drive.  For example, if you put the disk in 
your A: Drive, type A: <Enter>.

3.  Next, type INSTALL <Enter>.

4.  You will be asked to specify which game you are playing, the Police
Quest Collector's Edition or the original Disk version.

5.  Then, You will be asked to enter the letter of the drive that the
game was installed to, type the letter of your drive.

6.  You will be asked to enter the name of the directory the game was 
installed to, type the name of the directory and press <Enter> (if you 
installed it to the default directory just press <Enter>).

7.  Next, type the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

This will install the necessary patch files and you can play the game 
normally.
