CBASCII is a public domain program that is used to import and export
Chess games between ChessBase databases and ASCII. CBASCII can export
ChessBase games in either PGN-format or in ChessBase-format (a format
similar to that done by ChessBase itself). CBASCII can import
ChessBase games only in PGN-format, and this is likely to always be the
case as no other ASCII format is as highly specified.

This version of CBASCII is public domain and can therefore be distributed
freely as long as no profit is made during the distribution, and all of the
files are distributed with the executable.

CBASCII runs on an IBM Compatible PC with an i286 or above CPU.

See the file CBASCII.DOC for more details.

To see a test of CBASCII, change directory to TEST and type RUNTEST. This
will export all the games in the TEST database to the ASCII file TEST.PGN
in PGN-format. It will then import these games into a new database called
TEST1 and then re-export the games to TEST1.PGN. When this has finished
you should have two .PGN files that are identical byte-for-byte
(try "COMP TEST.PGN TEST1.PGN" to verify this).

Also the RUNTEST2 batch file allows you to see the diagram-generation
functionality.
