                               OPERATION CLEANER

                               ----==#####==----
System requirements:

- 430KB of free memory
- About 1900KB of disk space
- VGA card & display
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- At least an 80486 (probably, absolute minimum is 80286 if you really want
  to torture yourself)
& Education of Demolitor from Demolition Institution or comparable

Optional:
- Sound Blaster sound card

SETUP:
- First you have to set up sounds. Even if you don't have Soundblaster you
  have to run this program
- You can test your machine's performance in graphics and calculating power

                               ----==#####==----

The meaning of this game is to demolish buildings. The task is not as simple,
because neighbour buildings should not be harmed, and the business is hard.
The expenses are high: Explosives, fuse wires, blast caps, detonators,
crew payments and bulldozer hire. And if you fail in your job the insurance
costs will eat your retirement pays!

- Financial decisions:
  - From this screen you can move to a new city
  - If you want to buy some equipment come here
  - Select Customers for a list of jobs which are offered to you

There are few main things in the game screen:
- On the right top:
    - The text lines inform you what happens with current button
    - If the cursor is on the left side, current building block's
      type and endurance is shown

Setting up explosives:
- First select suitable explosive from top-right corner (dynamite, anite, TNT
  or C-4)
- Select the number of explosive units in this pack by using + and - buttons
  Right button adds/decreases 10 units
- Fuse and put the pack to scene with a button which has green arrow. The
arrow turns to red. Now click on the building scene (not on the 0
coordinates) and the explosive is marked with a red square. Next pack comes
automatically. If this didn't happen, check your equipment that you have
  enough of everything needed!
- You can use quick buttons by left-clicking one of them, and then placing it
on screen. Next pack's size is same as current pack's, so you can place
packs of same size to screen without selecting amount in between
  - If you want to change quick button's amount, first add or decrease amount
by + and - buttons, then right-click one of the quick buttons
- You can check the previously put packs by pressing left-arrow, or check
next ones by pressing right-arrow. The current pack is shown as white
  square
- Packs may be taken away from the scene. Just rewind to right pack and press
red arrow -button between the two arrows. Notice that you may not adjust
the amount of explosives when they are placed on the scene!
- The explosive force is shown by a brief comment below the fuse wire need.
Remember that the explosion spreads by same material (shock wave), and the
force slows down by distance. Put the explosive in the same coordinate as
the target, not next to it, because the explosion force is decreased by
distance and may not affect enough to target. The pack number 1 is detonated
first, then 2nd and so on, until all have been detonated.

It is not recommendable to use very large explosive packs...

When you feel you are ready, press Ok button which is above the Financial
decisions. Now you can place dampers:
These prevent explosions from reaching the next buildings, or protect other
buildings from falling materials. If damper is left unharmed after the task
is completed, it is collected for future use.

- Place a pile of dampers on the scene by clicking on a free block. All free
blocks below cursor are filled with dampers (if there is enough of them)
- Take dampers away by clicking on a topmost damper

You can move dampers in this damper-setting mode only.

The red circle shows roughly how far the explosion reaches. This is not exact,
so make sure you know what you do (especially with large explosive forces).
Explosion also spreads on the same material by shock waves, and air slows
down explosive force less than solid structures.

When the dampers are set, it's time to detonate: Just press the detonate
button and watch (and listen, if you have soundcard)

Crew and Bulldozers:
When you hire bulldozers they don't cost at that moment, but during the
preparation they cost 10% of the rent sum per day, and during cleaning
naturally they cost full rent per day. Crew payments are full all the time,
because amount of crew affects on explosives' setting time

Remember that the building comes down when it is not connected to ground by
any mean! Just one (even broken) block is enough to keep the building up.

The more of damaged materials is left on the scene after detonation,
the more the clearing will cost. The damaged ground adds clearing as well!

If the explosives didn't detonate:
- Make sure you have enough Detonators.
- Make sure all explosives are armed by blast caps.
- Make sure you have enough of fuse wire.
- Make sure all explosion packs are placed on the scene.
- The explosive doesn't detonate if X or Y coordinate is 0
- Make sure the ground radiation, sunspots, new Pentium math error or elves
aren't causing malfunctions to your computer! (just kidding)

                                    BUILDER

This is a building creator for Operation Cleaner.

Explanations about controls:

On the bottom of the screen there are 'building blocks' which you can place on
the screen above them by left mouse button. When 'Empty' is selected the left
button clears the current block.

On the up right is a screen which shows a miniature view of the area. If you
click there the large screen goes to that point.

New Current file name
Customer Customer's name. You must enter a new name before saving
Building Building's name. You must enter a new name before saving
Payment Click on this to set the price for the demolition of the
building. You may want to do this just before saving, when
                   the building is ready

Neighbour window Insurance price for destroyed neighbour window

Save... Save by a new name
Save Save by last saved name, if you have saved it before

Remember that no blocks may 'hover' in the game, so all blocks must be
connected to ground by way or another!! In that case file is not saved.

Fill/No fill When fill is selected and you press left button on screen
all connected blocks are changed to selected block

This is a city creator for Operation Cleaner.

Explanations about controls:

1 Create new directory
Create a new directory under the current directory.

2 Go to directory
If the new directory has city data the program asks 'Load directory's data'.
If you answer 'Continue' the current database is deleted and the new one is
loaded.

3 Make/edit cities
Here you may enter city file name, city name and all prices. The city must
have four items before saving:
- city file name
- city name
- city info text
- buildings
