Brands for GPL

This program creates Brands Hatch for GPL.
You MUST have a full production copy of GPL installed on your hard disk
for the track creation to work.

Unzip the files wherever you wish and then simply run Brands.exe.

Brands will prompt you for the GPL application directory. This is simply
the directory in which your GPL exe resides. The default is c:\sierra\gpl.
At most, you should only need to change the drive letter.

If the creation fails it is most likely that you have not set the GPL
application directory correctly. The other cause would be low disk space on
the Windows drive or on the drive containing GPL, because Brands requires
a large amount of disk space. Brands Hatch will automatically be added
to your calendar as the European Grand Prix.

Brands was written initially so that I could race at Brands Hatch in GPL.
I have tried to re-create the Brands Hatch of 1967.
The intention is for this to be more than just another track layout.
I know that the graphics are not terribly accurate
but I do hope the track reflects the unique challenge offered by the circuit.
Please do not email me on topics such as "there should be an Esso board
on the entry to Druids"!.
The 1967 Grand Prix cars would have been lapping in the low 1.30s in 1967.
If someone does get down to 1.30 I'll be delighted (as well as amazed!).

For those who find the track difficult at first get hold of Alison Hine's
Coventry setups. I used her Silverstone setup and found that I could lap
happily in the low 1.40s without spinning off for many laps.
Her new Ferrari setups will also see you staying on the asphalt without
much effort.

I should also add my thanks to Alison for all the help she has given
me in completing this project. Her advice included getting
"In Car 956" (from Duke Video). Brands Hatch had changed before Bell's lap
was recorded but not greatly. There are also stunning laps at The Ring and
Le Mans, a great tape!.

NOTE:- This program is only for distribution from The Pits web site.
It is not for release from any web site, or on CD etc without permission.
