NovaLogic's Newsletter
Volume I, Issue 5, November 1, 1996
________________________________________________________________
*INTRODUCTION*
Welcome to Issue #5 (Happy Halloween!) of the NovaLogic Newsletter. In keeping

with the holiday spirit, this week was a scary time for all of us here at
NovaLogic. I'm sure by now you've all heard about the wildfires that raged
through Malibu and Calabasas. Although we were forced to temporarily evacuate
our offices, the California fires eventually past us by and we were spared. I
chalk up this good fortune to the fact that none of us broke any mirrors or
crossed paths with any black cats on our way to work. Whew!!!

Were it not for our little close call this week, I'd be tempted to make some
joke about the sales of F-22 Lightning II really catching on fire. Despite a
burning desire to continue with this analogy (ugh!), let me just say that we
are all very pleased with the attention that this simulation seems to be
attracting. Note the announcements section in this issue for the latest info
on F-22.

Although the big news is the success of F-22, work continues on our other
simulations as well. There's just so much happening inside the hallowed halls
of NovaLogic these days, it's tough to keep track of it all. Still, this week
I've summarized some of the more important goings-on. Stay tuned.

*ANNOUNCEMENTS*

***** F-22 Lightning II continues to get rave reviews from the media and
general gaming population. On the 12th of October, the Cable News Network
(CNN) Computer Connection program ran a 10 minute segment on flight simulators

which showcased (You guessed it!) our very own F-22 Lightning II. We were
especially pleased to note that Ted Turner did not have time to convert any of

our beautiful landscapes or screen shots into black & white images. I can tell

you truthfully that we were all very proud. Who knows... next stop... Larry
King Live!!!

***** On a related note, one of our NovaLogic operatives received a call this
week from an individual who identified himself in hushed tones as a government

official working at the Pentagon. Once we were satisfied that the voice on the

other end wasn't Aldrich Ames we agreed to listen to what he had to say. It
seems that several copies of F-22 Lightning II have made their way inside that

famous five-sided structure. Apparently, it's quite a hit amongst a select
group of employees there. We were all set to be chastised for causing a drop
in productivity but instead this secretive individual merely wanted to thank
us personally for putting out a fine product. He was doubly appreciative to
learn that there's not a single $600 toilet seat on any one of our F-22s.

***** Everyone involved with F-22 has been feverishly working on product
enhancements that F-22 owners can download from our NovaLogic website
(www.novalogic.com). This is a must for F-22 aficionados. Included in this
upgrade are:
1) a text-based CHAT mode which allows players to communicate among themselves

during the Multiplayer Voting procedure as well as during play.
2) four new player perspectives (views) including a "check six" rear view.
3) a more capable setup program and a shortcut creator for Windows 95
4) and additional documentation which includes a wealth of game related C3I
(clarifications, corrections, commentary and information)

***** Coming soon to the NovaLogic website is a set of brand new Comanche 3
screen shots. Sure, it's a teaser but this Voxel Space 2 helicopter simulation

is proceeding towards completion at a very determined pace. And damn, it looks

good!!! But looking good is only the half of it. Comanche 3 takes advantage of

the increased horsepower of the newer PCs and uses 64 bit processing to more
closely simulate real life flight physics. What's all that mean to me, you
ask? Well, this simulation boasts an improved rotary flight model, weapons
that behave like their real life counterparts, and a 100 sq. mile battlefield
which gives players more than enough elbow room (or is it Hellfire room?).

***** We are also placing new F-22 Lightning II screenshots on the website.
These suitable for framing, binary beauties are sure fire (sorry, I just had
to sneak that in) crowd pleasers. Check them out for yourself. It's just our
way of saying thanks to the hundreds of flight "simians" out there who have
taken the time to write us with praise for F-22.

***** While standing around the watercooler the other day I overheard a rumor
that some Armored Fist 2 screenshots may be posted on the website soon. I
can't confirm this rumor as yet but I thought I'd pass it on before calling
Rumor Control. Remember, you didn't hear this one from me. Shhhhhhhhhh.....!!!

***** And finally- speaking of the website. Look for an international sales
contacts page for our friends outside the US. Also, the website will be
undergoing a little elective cyber surgery soon. Don't be alarmed, it's
nothing major, just a little facelift (and maybe a tummy tuck if there's
time). Still, keep those cards and letters coming. They'll help to speed its
recovery.

*HINTS & TIPS*

Here are some more strategy tips for owners of F-22 Lightning II:

Fly safe. Don't slow down for turns.

Never linger near a target longer than you have to. When your bombs start
going off, the enemy will have a pretty good idea where you are. Use your
afterburner to egress from the target quickly. There's no point in trying to
remain stealthy. Shoot and scoot.
