With this window you can set certain styles for you text, by choosing the size, font, color and effects before hand, you can then quickly change between these styles you've made.
To call up the Style manager you just click on the style button on the Title Bar and select Style Manager on the popup menu or place the pointer on "Style" in the right mouse button quick menu and select Style Manager on the sub menu.
