1983 - 1985 Scottish Junior Kart Champion

1986 - 1987 Scottish Open and British Super
       1 Kart Champion

1988:  Scottish Open Kart Champion

1989:  Competes in both Junior FF1600
       Championships. Won both. 

1990:  Competes in both British Vauxhall
       Lotus Challenge and GM Lotus
       Euroseries. 4th and 5th respectively
       despite breaking leg.

       Won McLaren-Autosport Young Driver
       of the Year, his prize was a
       McLaren-Honda test.

1991:  British Formula 3. 2nd with 5 wins.
       Won Macau and Zandvoort
       non-championship races.

1992:  European F3000. Finished 9th.
       Tested with Camel Benetton-Ford F1
       team.

1993:  Formula 3000. 3rd after winning Enna
       and 2nd place at Silverstone.

       Tested Williams-Renault FW15C. Drove
       at Le Mans for Jaguar. Won GT class.

1994:  Formula 3000. 2nd at first race.
       Test driver for Williams- Renault.
       Called up to drive for Williams
       after death of Senna.

       Raced 8 times and achieved one
       podium, at Estoril. 8th - 14 points
       FIA World Championship.

1995:  3rd on grid at Brazil with second
       place finish. This was stripped from
       him as both he and M.Schumacher were
       disqualified for breach of fuel
       regulations (both teams supplied
       by ELF).

       Pole at Argentina but retired while
       leading with transmission problems.
