InfoSpy is a general purpose Windows environment viewer allowing you view
Heap, Tasks, Windows, Classes, Modules, File Handles, DOS and Memory
Information. You can trace messages, stack and set up automatic timers
to provide real-time tracing on virtually every aspect of Windows.

The new System Sentry library lets you monitor Windows program usage, control
what Windows programs can be executed, disallow users from running programs,
disable the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys under Windows, and disable entire directories.

InfoSpy has been updated to run under Windows 95. Still a 16 app but ALL
functions work and provide accurate information for the Win95 environment!!

InfoSpy has full task scheduling capability allowing you to schedule the
execution of programs, Windows shutdown, Windows Restart, System Warmboot
& Coldboot and the termination of any task.

The Screen Capture Utility allows you to capture the entire desktop, a
specific window or cut a portion of the screen to the clipboard. You can
save the captured image as a bitmap too.

The DLL search utility will examine any local or network drive for all
programs that reference DLLs in order to provide a list of unreferenced
DLLs. In addition, all duplicate DLLs are displayed with an option to
delete the duplicates.

The ICON search will examine any file, directory or drive for files
containing ICONS and will list them (and draw them) in a convenient list.
You can copy any of the listed ICONS to the ClipBoard!

Ver 1.xx was highly praised by shareware magazines and software reviews
and was published in several books including "Byte Magazine's Programmer
Cookbook for Windows" and WUGNET's "Windows Configuration Secrets" as
a powerful, easy tool to inspect your Windows environment.

InfoSpy now includes STRESS functions that let you use InfoSpy to really
put the pressure on Windows and other applications. You can grab Global
Heap, GDI Heap, User Heap, File Handles, Disk Space and Timers. There is
also a function that continually does disk I/O to help simulate a busy
disk.

Real time tracing of stack, windows messages and serial comm ports has
been added as well as IntelliLib (tm) technology that lets you customize
InfoSpy by specifying with DLLs to load to add\remove functionality.

** What is your incentive to register? There is now an annoying splash
screen that appears when starting the unregistered version as well as
the word <unregistered> generously placed througout the program. The
code size of the registered version is 50k smaller too! We had
to add these features since we were getting lots of support calls from
people who had not registered. In other words, you get support when you
   register! **

Version History
===============

Ver 2.61
 1. NEW function: Version Search. Searches local and Remote drives looking for
programs, modules and drivers that contain version information from their
manufacturer. Sorts by name and lets you look for programs from a specific
    company, ie: Microsoft.
 2. Added code to extract file version for all lists that shows EXE or DLL
files. If there is no version information then ??.??.?.? is shown. This
    works for 16&32bit files.
 3. Added DLL File date/time/size/ver to 'List of Loaded Modules'.
 4. Added DLL File date/time/size/ver to Windows 95 'Module List'.
 5. Added File date/time/size/ver to 'Program\DLL Monitor'.
 6. Added Program File date/time/size/ver to 'Task List'.
 7. Added Program File date/time/size/ver to Windows 95 'Process List'.
 8. Cleaned up the toolbar buttons (as per PC mag article) to be smaller and
    more standard.
 9. Removed option to customize toolbar due to program pushing resource memory
    threshhold (sorry..).
10. Added ability to FAX and EMAIL from the 'Duplicate File' and 'File Search'
    lists.
11. Added support for Windows NT 4.0x. We did this by disabling the Vxd and
32bit thunking libraries that we use for Windows 95. Aside from that we
only had to disable 2 menu options that caused GPFs, all other functions
    work normally.
12. Enhanced the version information reported under 'System' 'System
Information' option by showing true Windows 3.1x/95/NT version as well as
    registered user and company.
13. Modified memory selectors in 3 DLLs to dynamically allocate and destroy
instead of being tied to an array.

Ver 2.60
1. Correct bug where paragraph marker (hex 20) was being put in logs instead of
   space character.
2. Updated AutoLog function dialog to have the option of auto-starting when
InfoSpy starts. Added code to InfoSpy startup procedure to look for this
   new flag.
3. Updated Autolog options to allow for DOS memory level to be written to the
log. Added code to timer event to compare and store DOS memory level.
4. Corrected Memory leak in DOS memory calculation, was leading to lockups and
   GPFs.
5. Corrected Pointer allocation problem with the alarms, may have caused GPFs
   during InfoSpy startup.
6. Added MAPI email support to the Main Menu, Tech Dump and Log Viewer. You can
send any InfoSpy info to any other MAPI email connected user. This function
supports MAPI in Win 3.1x and Windows 95.
7. Corrected several menu problems where menu items werent showing correct
   state.
8. Enabled the browse button on the Autolog form.
9. Added a DIRECTORY DISK UTILIZATION utility under the SYSTEM menu. This
utility quickly scans your local or netowrk disk and presents you with a
list of all directories, their total disk size in kb and the percentage of
the total disk that they occupy. All subdirectories and also enumerated.
10. Corrected pointer bug while pulling NETWARE user id's. THis will prevent
    garbage in the user id.
11. Corrected module allocation bug by manually unloading the INFTKDLL.DLL
   module like other modules.
12. Updated the SETUP program: Removed option to start InfoSpy at end of
installation. Turned off the option to install our CTRL-ALT-DEL disabling
driver automatically, now has to be selected by user.

Definition Of Shareware
=======================

Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you
are expected to register. Individual programs differ on details --
some request registration while others require it, some specify a
maximum trial period. With registration, you get anything from the
simple right to continue using the software to an updated program with
printed manual.

Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and
the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are of
comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs and bad
ones!) The main difference is in the method of distribution. The
author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute the
software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group. For
example, some authors require written permission before a commercial
disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should
find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's
commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs
easier, because you can try before you buy. And because the overhead
is low, prices are low also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back
guarantee - if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.
