                           How To Install SCIM
                ͼ

SCIM will run on any IBM PC or 100% compatible using DOS version
3.3 or above. A minimum 640K RAM and a hard disk are required. A
132 column printer is necessary for the full range of printed
reports. An 80286 or better microprocessor and extended memory
are highly recommended. SCIM can be installed on any system as
       outlined below:

We will assume that you will use Drive A to install the program on
Drive C. Otherwise, you will need to substitute the correct drive
       letters where necessary.

First, place the first SCIM program disk into Drive A and type:

                       a:install <Press ENTER>

The installation screen will then appear, immediately followed by
the README screen (this file). After reviewing the README screen,
press ESC to return to the installation screen.

The installation screen includes two prompts, each of which is
       described below:

Install Files onto Drive: Use this field to specify the
drive that you want to install SCIM onto or simply press
            ENTER to accept the default.

Path: Use this field to type the name of the directory
where the SCIM program files will be installed. You must
also include a leading backslash (e.g., the default
            pathname is "\SCIM").

After completing the installation screen, press ENTER to begin the
installation process. Then, follow the prompts to insert each
       distribution disk as requested.

After you have successfully loaded the program and data files, you
       can start SCIM by typing:

                                   SCIM

If the program has been properly installed, the Main Menu screen
       should appear.
