(GTU version 3.0.2 faq.txt)

These are some of the frequently asked questions that I had to answer in the last weeks:

Q:Where's the GTU? I clicked on "Send to tray" and then it was gone!
A: :-) It has become a tray icon and can be found next to the clock in the taskbar.

Q:The GTU has the option to enable AGP 2x or 4x on my board but it doesn't work. PCIlist and Powerstrip say only AGP 1x is working!
A:You should visit GeForceFAQ.com, there you'll get infos:
- for AMD Irongate based boards
- for boards based on VIA chipsets
- for boards based on Intel chipsets

Q:I don't see an apply button. When does the GTU "activate" the new settings? On Exit?
A:No, the settings are being applied directly after checking/unchecking an option.

Q:Where do I get infos about the options that don't provide any help? Where do I get additional information on the other options?
A:Sorry, I don't know. Try to search the internet, newsgroups, or simply write an email to NVidia and ask them your questions...you could tell me what you found out, if you wanted.

Q:What's the thing with these stupid version numbers? I mean 1.0.12 or so.
A:I wanted to bring out version 1.0 - but it should include some special other options and the W2K version should be finished (nearly) completely.
The version 1.0.12 is subversion 12 of version 1.0. The "real" or the "finished" version 1.0 is my private subversion 14.

Q:Can you add an option that does (blahblah...)?
A:Yes, when the drivers support it...!?
A lot of people are thinking I would be the creator of all the things you can change with the GTU. Indeed I am not. I only tweak the capabilities of the drivers simply by changing some registry settings.

Q:The latest 1.0.x version doesn't detect my GeForce!
A:Hell, that's bad! You can try to start the GTU the following way: "GTU_1Txx.EXE /old" - This will use the detection method of the 0.71 version. --> If the 0.71 GTU worked, the 1.0.x version will work this way, too.

Q:What registry keys does the GeforceTweak use to modify the driver settings?
A:Win9x\ME:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NVIDIA Corporation"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\
Class\Display"
Win2000:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
nv4\"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\
NVTweak"
When you use non-NVidia drivers the kegkeys will be a little bit different.

Q:I noticed some strange error message: "Ungltiger Datentyp fr '...' " - what's this?
A:This error means that the GTU couldn't read/write an entry correctly. At later times this was a bug, but I think in the latest version bugs like this should be fixed.
The problem of the error message: Most values the GTU controls are DWORD entrys in the registry. If you created an entry by hand or with another tweak utility it might have happened that the values were saved in the wrong format. If this is so, the GTU will show this error message.

Q:In Unreal (1) I can't access the menu! It's invisible!
A:You have to enable W-Buffering in the Direct3D-tab!
