OPTIONS for flyingwindows

COMMAND LINE OPTIONS

  flyingwindows accepts the following options:

  Windows
  -------
    -root    Draw on the root window.

    -window  Draw on a newly-created window.  This is the default.

  Colors
  ------
    -mono    If on a color display, pretend we're on a monochrome display.

    -install
             Install a private colormap.

    -no-install
             Do not install a private colormap.

    
    -visual visual
             Specify which visual to use.  Legal values are the name  of a
             visual class, or the id number (decimal or hex) of a specific
             visual.

    -ncolors colors
             Specify how many different colors to draw the flying logos in.
             Default is 64.  -mono or a monochrome screen set this override
             this, of course.  Max is 256.

  Speed
  -----
    -delay seconds
             How many microseconds to wait before drawing again.  Default
             is 50000.

  Modes
  -----
    X11
    ---
      -x11     Show flying X11 "X" logos instead of MS-style logos.

    Windows
    -------
      -tux     Use Tux the Linux Penguin.             

      -bsd     Use the FreeBSD Daemon.

      -sun     Use the Sun Microsystems-ish UFO.

      -sgi     Use a Silicon Graphics (SGI) style icon.

  Note:  If neither "-x11", "-tux", "-bsd", "-sun" nor "-sgi" are specified,
  the default is to randomly pick one of the latter four (Windows) options.

  You'll always want to specify "-root" when using flyingwindows as an
  xscreensaver screen hack.
