v1.14 of Achtung Spitfire

November 18, 1997

IMPORTANT: The file format of saved games was changed in v1.13, so you may not want
to apply this patch if you have a tour of duty game in progress that you want to
finish. Also, if you want to play over the internet, all players must be updated to
v1.13 or v1.14. And if you "link" your squadron to Over the Reich, you must use v1.13
of Over the Reich.

Changes in v1.14 of Achtung Spitfire

* Fixes a bug in v1.13 that incorrectly introduced the Spitfire IX in 1939.

Changes in v1.13 of Achtung Spitfire

* Aircraft engine power/acceleration has been reduced slightly to be more realistic.

* A bug in the mission scoring sometimes awarded an undeserved defeat when it should
have been a victory. This is fixed.

* Historical fix: In reality, there were no Spitfire squadrons based in France in
1939-40. In a British tour of duty that begins in 1939, you now must fly
Hurricanes (though you can switch to Spitfires after the fall of France).

* Spitfire IX is now fuel-injected as it should be.

* Bf 110C4 and C4B have improved MG-FFM cannon.

Changes in v1.12 of Achtung Spitfire

* Program crashes no longer occur when saving the game.

* The AI no longer dives airplanes so hard that they crash into the ground. (Some
people reported this as "mysterious explosions"). Also, computer pilots bail out
of dead-engine airplanes at General level (instead of crashing into the ground).

* It is slightly more difficult for fighters to disengage from a dogfight (you
now need a bit more separation first).

Changes in v1.11 of Achtung Spitfire

* Sometimes the program crashed when the computer made its move at the General
skill level. This has been fixed.

* Sometimes pilots would be shown as "ready" and yet not allowed to take off.
  This has been fixed.

* Enemy reinforcements now usually appear in slightly less threatening positions.

* Upon reaching the target, formations of fighters that originally contained
bombers (but the bombers were shot down or went home) would be asked if they
wanted to dive-bomb the target even though they lacked bombs. This has been fixed.

* Occasionally the full tour of duty would end after the Battle of France when
it shouldn't have. This no longer occurs.
